1.) Rating:3/5. Review by Meena Iyer on Times of India

When you enter the movie hall for this outing, remember to let your hair down and guffaw because from the opening scene itself you’re familiar with the tropes. David Dhawan who has made three dozen vacuous comedies, with an enviable success ratio. He was even crowned the undisputed king of comedy once. Here, he gives you a rebooted version of his 1997 comic-caper of the same name. The earlier one had Salman Khan, this one has Varun. It helps that the leading man has a mammoth following with today’s kids.
2.) Rating: 2/5. Review by Shubhra Gupta on India Express
With a lot of high-octane drama movies like Bhoomi and Haseena Parkar, this light-hearted comedy by David Dhawan definitely stands a better chance. The Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu starrer is the perfect dose of candyfloss romance, exotic locales, and a colorful canvas.
3.) Rating: -/-. Review by Hindustan Times

The film has some upredictable and absurd moments, but they mostly work. Judwaa 2 is not a great film, but were we really expecting anything other than PJs and slapstick humor?

4.) Rating: 1.5/5. Review by Swetha Ramakrishnan on First Post

Don’t watch Judwaa 2 if you’re looking for something deep. But be ready to roll your eyes in several scenes. The songs make up for the silliness in Judwaa 2. And then there’s Varun Dhawan, who doesn’t take himself too seriously, and that’s the best part of Judwaa 2.

5.) Rating: 2/5. Review by Manjusha Radhakrishnan on Gulf News

But the reboot of the songs by Anu Malik, Oonchi Hai Building, and Tan Tana Tan, are fun-filled and take you down a nostalgic route. However, a glitzy music video or a cameo by the original star of Judwaa, Khan, can’t make up for a flawed comedy.
Watch this at your own risk.

Rating: 2/5. Review by Satish Sundaresan, Koimoi

For all those who live, breathe and eat David Dhawan’s style of filmmaking, Judwaa 2 will surely make you happy and feel proud about your idol. Secondly, the film is a must watch for all the zillion plus fans (mostly Gen-Next) of Varun Dhawan. Judwaa 2 surely has the potential to grow big majorly through the word of mouth publicity, whose catalysts will be the college going crowd, for whom, missing a Varun Dhawan film is an unpardonable sin! But, for the rest of the gang, watching the original Judwaa a thousand times over will serve you more good.
